The New Wishabi Crew!

Posted by: Wehuns on: September 8, 2008

The average height at Wishabi has skyrocketed with the addition of our three newest team members, Matthew Tate, Arnel Ilano and Brendan Cone.

Here’s a bit about our new team members:

  • Matt Tate -  Matt will be joining our engineering team and will be working on growing and scaling Wishabi’s merchant data systems. Matt majored in computer science from Carleton University (Ottawa) and also has a minor in law. Originally from Alberta, Matt’s travelled most of Canada and enjoys studying music, people watching, water skiing, and a host of cool activities.
  • Arnel Ilano – Arnel is Wishabi’s new creative director and will be working on making Wishabi super user friendly and beautiful. A graduate from University of Toronto’s new media program, Arnel is a fashion aficionado and also a expert at soul calibur.
  • Brendan Cone – Brendan joins our engineering team from the University of Waterloo’s computer science program. A native of Innisfil, Brendan likes to play guitar, writes music on a regular basis and wears a rasta hat sometimes for kicks.

We’re extremely happy to have Matt, Arnel and Brendan join us!

You’ve found the company blog for Wishabi.ca!

Wishabi is working hard on a new and disruptive next-generation online shopping system for the Canadian consumers. We are currently in closed beta but are rapidly moving towards our January launch. If you’d like to learn more and participate in our beta please email us at beta@wishabi.ca.

This blog will keep you up to date on our official company news, and we’ll also be discussing our views on the changing landscape of e-commerce in Canada, cross-border shopping, traditional retailing and consumer packaged goods.

Some of the questions we’ll try to answer in this blog:

  • How do we make e-commerce work better in Canada?
  • How do we simplify the complexities in cross-border online shopping?
  • Do informed shoppers make better customers?
  • Is online shopping completely price oriented, or does service come into play?

Are you interested in these questions? We hope you subscribe and join in the conversation.
